The Genevieve is a relaxed cropped fit pant, made from a stunning soft European flax linen that flows down from the waist to the hem. Given the generous amount of fabric, we like to describe the Genevieve Cropped Pant as a ‘practical skirt’, allowing you to move freely. Featuring side pockets, and an enclosed elastic waist with drawstring ties for extra comfort, the Genevieve will take you everywhere you need to go.
This season we have crafted the Genevieve from French Ticking Stripe in lightweight linen for a timeless feel. Crafted from light-weight linen. Ticking Stripe was originally known as ‘ticking fabric’ and made from thickly woven cotton or linen. ‘Ticking’ comes from the Greek word ‘theka’, which means ‘case’ or ‘covering’ as this delightful fabric was used in the home to cover mattresses, keeping straw and feathers in nicely. We fell in love with this timeless stripe many years ago, and love to incorporate it into our collections.
*Please note, the Genevieve in Khaki Overdye Stripe is not pictured. Images included are the Genevieve in plain light-weight linen, Khaki and the Emily Skirt in Khaki Overdye Stripe to give you an idea of this beautiful style. Our Khaki linen styles are over-dyed in Melbourne. The colour varies from a lighter Khaki shade (shown on our model) to a darker Khaki shade (fabric swatch pictured) with a more subtle stripe.
Bella and Rose are between 170-175cm tall, and both wear an AU size 8. They are photographed wearing the Metta Melbourne size 1's.
Side Seam Length
We recommend looking at the garment’s measurements in relation to your body, and also in comparison to a similar style of clothing you own. This is a great way of understanding the shape and size of a style.
Our linen styles are made from premium European flax linen, pre-washed, and ready to wear on arrival. Some are lightly pressed - within no time the fabric will soften with wear, crinkles and wrinkles will come naturally, giving it that stunning un-ironed look that we have all come to love. If you would like to speed up this process, we recommend popping it in the washing machine, following the washing instructions found on your garments care label, and skipping any ironing.
